SLAYER's TOM ARAYA Guest DJs On Sirius Satellite Radio's 'Hard Attack'
December 1, 2004Sirius Satellite Radio's "Hard Attack"/27 channel surrenders this weekend (12/3-12/5) to an "Eternity of SLAYER", playing a SLAYER song at the top of every hour (72 songs total). Defying doctor's orders after recently suffering throat damage, Tom Araya will return to the "Hard Attack" studios with host Jose Mangin to play his own musical selections, give updates from the Jagermeister tour, and talk about recording the new SLAYER release with Dave Lombardo. Tom also spills the blood on the new DVD, "Still Reigning", and talks about his home life as a devoted father and husband. The interview airs Friday, Dec. 3 at 7pm EST and again Saturday, Dec. 4 at 3pm, Sunday, Dec. 5 at 10am EST, and Monday, Dec. 6 at 1am EST.
Also, "Hard Attack"'s weekly metal history lesson, "Bloody Roots" with host Ian Christe (author of "Sound of the Beast"),will play rare early SLAYER recordings like "Ice Titan" and "Warlock's Revenge" from the demo days, a frantic version of "Angel of Death" captured live in 1987, and raging violent thrash by Araya brother John's band BLOODCUM — plus SLAYER's jolly take on the Gumby theme song! "Bloody Roots" airs every Sunday at 2pm and 10pm EST.
"Hard Attack" is also giving away 23 copies of the "Still Reigning" DVD, featuring SLAYER's infamous "wall of blood" stage effect — that's one DVD for every year SLAYER has been around. Meanwhile, "Hard Attack" continues giving away tickets for every show on SLAYER's current tour with MASTODON and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE.
